A Tour de France

£9.99

A retired police officer, a bicycle, and a road trip across France. What could possibly go wrong? As it turns out, quite a few things, actually.

Over 50, overweight, unfit, and retired, Paul Weston decided he was ready to have an adventure. His chosen mode of transport, his trusty old bike, was as much not fit for purpose as he was!

Undeterred, he ventured to France on what he would class at the time, an adventure of a lifetime, and getting back to grass roots.  However, what happens next in this heart warming memoir, entertained his family as much as we hope it entertains you.

With a foreword by Paul’s daughter, Suzanne Mullen.

About the Author

When my Dad retired from the Police Force he decided to take himself on a trip of a lifetime, for him that was, not necessarily for everyone else including my Mom.  He had many adventures in his life, some that should have meant he should have left us sooner.   However this is just one of his adventures in his words before he forgot, I’m just sorry he didn’t write his other adventures down before he left us in August 2020 so I could still hear his voice and laughter as I read them. Suzanne.

  1. Beercott Books

“A short, easy and amusing read of one man’s retirement adventure.  This retired police officer describes his dream, his trip and all its failures with good humour, honesty and a good dose of humility.”

  2. Beercott Books

“Totally engaging, a book that leaves you wanting more!  A Tour de France competitor he may not be but without doubt an amusing, captivating story teller.”
