We won!

Well, it has certainly been exciting here at Beercott HQ recently.

First up, we are really chuffed to announce we have been selected as an #SBS winner! What is an #SBS winner? Well, #SBS or Small Business Sunday to give it its full title is an idea set up by Theo Paphitis who you may recognise from Dragons’ Den on BBC2. Each week six business are selected on twitter to join the group, and their details are shared with Theos’ twitter followers, which amounts to over 500,000 potential new customers and followers! The group is also a great source for sharing ideas and mentoring. Since we were selected our twitter feed has gone bananas which is fantastic, and we are looking forward to seeing what happens over the coming months as we build on our success so far.

This great news came just as we are in the process of getting some new plays, pantomimes and musicals ready for publication. From a mix of both new and seasoned writers, there is everything from murder to talking animals!

As well as publishing the plays in book form we will also be handling the performance rights which will be a new venture for us, but one which we are really looking forward to.

One of the first plays to be released will be ‘The Grey Mist: a ghost story’ by Anthony Stamp.

When Dr Trent takes over the medical practice in a remote country area of 1920s England he finds the locals both suspicious and superstitious. But soon he senses something more. Why does he feel the presence of a patient he cannot see? What exactly is the grey mist, so often whispered about but never explained?

So, if you are part of a local theatre group and are looking for new material, make sure you sign up for our newsletter to be kept up to date.

One final note, we are also pleased to announce we will be at the inaugural Southam Book Festival on the 30th September 2018. The festival is being held at the Graham Adams Centre, St James Road, Southam CV47 0LY between 2pm and 5pm. There will be a wide range of book-related stalls with authors giving talks and signing books. We will be joined by Natasha Lea, author of Stripey Enid, who will be available to sign books, as well as reading her book at around 2.30pm. It promises to be a fun event, so hopefully we will see you there.

Cheers, The Beercott team.
